Unless you have embroidery digitizing software it will not sew. My software cost 2 grand. You can get cheaper software for embroidery digitizing, maybe around 300 dollars. I do logos in corel draw and save as a vector image. If I have a bmp or jpeg I use vector magic. Another 300 dollars. Then import into embroidery software.

Not sure what these people at Lids are talking about. I want to get a logo I made on Photoshop onto a blank hat, basically. They told me I need to 'digitize' the logo. Naturally, it is already digitized, just not the right format they need.
They said something about DMT or EMF... I prob have those completely backwards and wrong but they told me what format I needed. The only thing I know is that it is not a natural format in Photoshop.
Lids has some pretty standard software that runs on Windows and I'm not sure what they use but if I did I could probably get somewhere. I was in the store today and didn't think to ask them to click on File >> Open to see what kind of files that the program would accept. I am sure they knew what they were talking about when they said 'DMT or EMF' (again, I haven't the slightest recollection of what they actually said) but it still might of helped to go that extra step.
If anyone knows what I need to do, it would be great, as I am trying to keep everything uniform between my shirts, website, and hats.
Thanks.

my suggestion is to install a freeware called 'Free Download Manager' it has more features for downloading that windows.
the particular features that would be helpful to you is the pause and resume. you can stop downloading in the middle of the process. then resume it at anytime or anyday afterwards. you can also select the location to store your downloads. and you can allocate more bandwidth for faster downloads.
if free download manager is installed correctly, it will engage when you hit 'any' download or install button on a web site. it will then give you options for downloading the files.
next download your files from the website in either zip or unzip formats. a zipped files is a condensed / highly compact version of the unzipped / regular sized file. these types are helpful if you have a slow internet connection. however after you download a zipped file, you will then need to unzipp them / expand the file back into its original size
.
so depending on the internet speed you have, you may want the unzipped version if you have high speed internet. but if you can, download both zip and unzipped versions. (never hurts to have backup sets)
afterwards, you can copy the unzipped / regular files over the the usb via the windows explorer.

in regards to transferring it to the sewing machine, you will need to review its manual.
as a last suggestion, create a sub folder inside your 'my documents' folder and call it something like 'My Sewing Machine'. Remember to show this centralize sub folder to the download manager after it engages at the time of downloading.
finally if you are paying for these downloads from the sewing machine website, then you most certainly want to keep copies of them stored on either cd, dvd or on Microsoft's Free Skydrive website.
